The Laboratory for functional Imaging of the Mind uses modern neuroscientific methods to study the neurophysiological bases of higher cognitive functions in humans and how they differ between individuals. fimlab is located at the Department of Psychology at the University of Heidelberg, and headed by Dr. Christian Fiebach. Our research interests involve working memory, higher (so-called executive) functions, the interaction of emotion and cognition, as well as language processing.
fimlab is currently funded by an Emmy-Noether-grant from the German Research Foundation (“Neurocognition of Individual Differences”) and by a BMBF-project on “Neurocognitive Mechanisms of Goal Management”. fimlab is also supported by the Dietmar-Hopp-Stiftung.
